The measure seeks to protect the nesting of the different species of sea turtle that are in danger of extinction.

Baja California Sur.- This Friday a point of agreement was approved to prohibit the circulation of vehicles and any type of pack animals such as horses, camels among others on the beaches and coasts of Los Cabos in Baja California Sur before the desolation season of the sea turtle, local media reported.

The measure was endorsed during the public session of the Cabildo with the aim of applying restrictions to companies that offer buggy, quad bike, razer, horse, camel among others, as mentioned by the head of the Urban Development Commission, Planning, Ecological and Environment, Tabita Rodríguez.

This measure seeks to protect the beaches during this nesting season of the seagrass and the different species of sea turtles that arrive on the Mexican coast to spawn.

The councilor, Jorge Armando López, mentioned that, during a first tour, the presence of motorcycles was noticed, and although he explained that they had no knowledge of the measure, there are already signs that warn that due care is taken.

Likewise, it was mentioned that this type of activity damages the flora and fauna of the beaches, which are home to endemic species, so when they are used as tracks, the landscape is damaged in addition to generating pollution.
