Manzanillo, Colima.- A man was shot to death this Friday afternoon in the Santiago delegation, in events recorded on Hidalgo Street in front of the community market.

It was known that the victim identified as David Díaz Valdez, was about to board his vehicle outside his business when he was intercepted by unknown subjects who shot him repeatedly.

Immediately, the people who were around him gave him first aid and upon the arrival of the Red Cross paramedics, they confirmed that the man had no vital signs, so the intervention of the SEMEFO was necessary to lift the body.

It should be noted that David Díaz Valdez, just last June 21, was released from jail where he remained for just over 9 months.

He was imprisoned in the Chandiablo jail, due to a conflict with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (SSBS), after opposing the withdrawal of an ambulance that provided services to the Campos community.

In mid-February, through an audio that his relatives sent to the media, the activist said he feared for his life inside the prison and held the governor, José Ignacio Peralta Sánchez, responsible for what could happen to him in that place.

On that occasion, Díaz Valdez also blamed the state attorney general, the staff of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary, as well as magistrate Sergio Marcelino Bravo Sandoval for his safety, as he attributed to “his dark interests” the fact of being in prison “ without any justification ”.
