Urgent call for temporary workers to clean sargassum of Tulum beaches

Tulum. – To attend the contingency due to sargassum recall and support the families’ economy, the Government of Tulum carries out the temporary employment program with an investment of 1 million pesos in the hiring of 50 women and men who will work during two months in the improvement and rehabilitation of beaches.

Through the Directorate of the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone and the General Directorate of Economic Development, those who are hired will receive a fortnightly salary of 5,000 pesos for two months, they will work in brigades to cover shifts from 6:00 to 12:00 hours and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in cleaning and removal of sargassum in the main public beaches.

According to the information provided, the interested parties should go to the offices of the Social Development Directorate on Bubul-Ek street between Cobá avenue and 11th street, with a copy of the voter’s credential, CURP and proof of address, during business hours. 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., they must also be willing to do heavy physical work and not have health problems that prevent them from doing it.

These actions are in response to the request of citizens and businessmen to reduce the presence of sargassum on the beaches and motivate tourism, within the framework of the strategies promoted by the Tulum City Council for economic recovery.
