A low pressure formed off the coasts of Veracruz and Oaxaca could develop into a cyclone during the next few hours, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) warned.

In the case of Oaxaca, the low-pressure zone maintains a 40 percent probability for cyclonic development in 48 hours and is located south of the coasts of that entity. Its circulation causes rains in the east, south, and southeast of Mexico.

The SMN forecasts heavy rains with torrential punctual rains (150.1 to 250.0 mm): Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco, and Chiapas. Very heavy rains with intense point rains (75.1 to 150.0 mm): Puebla and Guerrero, as well as heavy rains with very strong rains (50.1 to 75.0 mm): Campeche and Yucatán.

For Veracruz, the Conagua body pointed out that the low pressure has a 10 percent probability for cyclonic development in 48 hours, it is located off the coast of Veracruz.

This system will cause heavy to torrential rains in Tabasco, Veracruz and Campeche.

The National Hurricane Center of the United States warned that in the next few days a tropical cyclone will develop in the southwest of the Gulf of Mexico. “The slow-moving system will create a potential for heavy rains and floods in southeast Mexico,” can be read in the tweet he shared.
