In accordance with article 39 of the Electoral Code of Hidalgo, political parties may retain their registration if they obtained 3 percent of the votes.

After concluding the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP) of the State Electoral Institute (IEEH), 4 of the 11 political parties registered in Hidalgo will lose their registration by not obtaining the necessary 3 percent of the vote to continue as political organizations.

According to article 39 of the Electoral Code of Hidalgo, political parties may retain their registration if they obtained 3 percent of the votes, so Más Por Hidalgo, Podemos, Redes Sociales Progresistas, and Fuerza Por México will lose their registration.

The Podemos party, which won two mayoralties in the last municipal electoral process in 2020, this time added 2.49 percent of the electoral preferences, so this time it did not obtain the necessary votes and therefore will lose its registration as a local political party.

Redes Sociales Progresistas (RSP), a party linked to the former leader of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE), “La Maestra” Elba Esther Gordillo, will also lose its registration by adding 2.34 percent of electoral preferences, so it will disappear as a political force.

Fuerza Por México (FXM) only obtained 1.06 percent of electoral preferences during election day, so the recently created political party will also lose its registration as a local political institute.

In the same way, Más Por Hidalgo will lose its registration by only adding 0.9 percent of electoral preferences, it is the only political party that did not win any mayor’s office in last year’s elections, and now it becomes the least voted party in election day.

Other political parties that are at risk of losing their registrations are the Partido Encuentro Social Hidalgo (PESH), which obtained only 1.8 percent of electoral preferences, although it was part of the “Va Por Hidalgo” coalition that won four electoral districts.

Likewise, the Labor Party (PT) and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) are at risk of losing their records as local political parties in the state of Hidalgo, because they did not reach 3 percent of the votes, although they were part of the coalition known as “Together We’ll Make History” that won 14 of the 18 local electoral districts.
