The Vallarta Yacht Club and the Hotel Paradise Village will host the competition where they will receive more than 150 participants from 13 countries in America; Argentina, Bahamas, Bermuda, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Chile, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, United States, Uruguay, Virgin Islands, and Mexico.
This competition is one of the most important and transcendent regattas for a sailor, given that their level of competition is very high, and with certainty, the trajectory of many competitors will continue until they see themselves at the level of World Championships and Olympic Games. It has the support of the International Optimist Association IODA and the World Sailing Federation
During the event, the former Mexican athlete, Olympic medalist, and world champion in athletics, Ana Gabriela Guevara, gave presence and use of her voice.
“Welcome to Mexico, I am very pleased that you are here in this 2021 edition of this North American Sailing Championship. Tell them to enjoy this event too much, this moment, enjoy Vallarta. COVID has completely divided the possibility of having continuity in sport, and today you are here. To all the countries present, welcome, enjoy it. With this sport I am happy to be in this event accompanying you, and that like you, you have to dream, you have to build forwards.
