Luis Villaseñor, interim director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Promotion and Advertising Trust, reported that as of June 10 this destination will add another flight, this time from McAllen, Texas, of the Aeromar airline that will be available Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

“This opens up the possibility of connecting with southern Texas and with this border flight, we can say that Puerto Vallarta is connected with the main metropolitan areas, number one, Ciudad Juárez as well as Tijuana, we have already been operating that route for several years with two Airlines”.

He indicated that with this third flight, Puerto Vallarta is closer to the border and also locals will be able to take advantage of these trips that they could take advantage of to make purchases and learn about the offer of attractions that the southern United States has.

It is worth mentioning that the Reynosa-McAllen metropolitan area, with a population of 1 million 647 thousand 351 inhabitants, is the third most populated transnational metropolitan area between the United States and Mexico border, after Ciudad Juárez and Tijuana.

Likewise, the Reynosa-Río Bravo metropolitan area is the twenty-third most populous city in the country.

“Reaching this market, which represents 1.6 million people who live in that Valle de Bravo, who are people from Reynosa who can cross the border and take this flight, opens up the opportunity for us both on the Mexican side and in the United States, in addition to the fact that the tourism is of high purchasing power and there is medical tourism who are looking for options to travel and Puerto Vallarta is one of their favorites ”.

After the last successful launch of its flights between Monterrey and McAllen, Texas, on April 22, Aeromar decided to redouble its commitment to that American city and yesterday announced two new destinations for the summer season: Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.

The company will operate three weekly flights between McAllen and Guadalajara, departing from the Texas city on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10:00 to arrive at 12:30. In reverse, the flight will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 3:45 pm, landing in McAllen at 6:15 pm.

The same flight will allow you to continue to Puerto Vallarta, landing in this city at 2:40 p.m., while in the opposite direction the flight will depart at 14:10.

During the press conference, at McAllen International Airport, Fabricio Cojuc, Director of Network Strategy & Alliances at Aeromar highlighted the growth they have had in the American city, giving us an example that during May 20 flights were originally scheduled between McAllen and Monterrey, but that will end up being 87 in order to meet the demand. Likewise, between Mexico City and McAllen, they will close the month with 150 flights in which they expect to transport 7 thousand passengers.

Cojuc also said that during the summer they estimate their capacity in McAllen to grow by 40%. “These numbers are testament to the great partnership we have developed in recent years with McAllen,” he concluded.

Roel Roy Rodriguez, McAllen City Manager, said that in the city “we use science to make decisions. The service announced today will give us the opportunity to connect with two wonderful destinations. The experience of working with Aeromar has been very rewarding to meet the international demand. Securing these two routes has not been an easy task. We have worked together to position the McAllen airport and Aeromar as the main gateway to the Valley for travel to and from Mexico.

The outgoing mayor of the city, Jim Darling, also highlighted his pride in all the infrastructure that they have developed at the local airport during the ten years of his tenure, in which they became “the take-off point of all the fun of our inhabitants to the north and south. ‘
