It’s official: Disney has announced that the Star + streaming platform will not arrive in Mexico in June, as previously announced. The platform that will bring to Mexico the 32 seasons of The Simpsons, as well as Walt Disney content that is not available on Disney +, will arrive in the country two months later: on August 31.
The announcement was made in a global earnings presentation by Disney. CinePremiere had access to the presentation of Disney’s financial results where the announcement was made and ensures that the argument behind the delay is to offer a better catalog for its ESPN channel and that the launch coincides with the sports calendar.
Disney has announced that Star + will have television series and films from the following studios:
Disney Television Studios
FX
20th Century Studios
20th Television
TouchstoneAt the conference the price was not made official, but at least the information that has been previously given still stands: Star + will have more than 1,300 titles available and by the end of the first year the catalog is expected to increase to 2,000 unique titles.
Star + will cost $7.5 USD per month in the United States and can be purchased alone or in a package with Disney +.
