Mexico reports 57 Covid deaths, the lowest number in more than a year

The number of confirmed deaths from coronavirus in 24 hours reported this Sunday is the lowest since April 26, 2020, when the death of 46 patients was reported.

In Mexico, 218,985 people have died from coronavirus as of this Sunday, May 9, and 57 more deaths were reported today than yesterday, a lower number since April last year, reported Gabriela Nucamendi, general director of Epidemiology.

According to the report, between yesterday and today 57 deaths from coronavirus were confirmed, the lowest figure since April 26, 2020, when the death of 46 patients was reported.

Meanwhile, the agency estimates that around 2 million 552 thousand 389 people have been infected with coronavirus, of which 20 thousand 193 would still have the active disease.

In addition, it reported that 9 million 440 thousand 251 complete vaccines against coronavirus have been applied; while around one million 886 thousand 233 people have recovered.
