Guadalajara. The body of Mario Alberto Villa Arce, a Guadalajara policeman who was deprived of his liberty by an armed group last Sunday, was found on a finca in the Ladrón de Guevara neighborhood, confirmed the state prosecutor Gerardo Octavio Solís, who also acknowledged that his death was “for work reasons.”
Villa Arce, deprived of his liberty while walking his dog, on his day off, participated in the police device that last week found a safe house in the Chapalita neighborhood, in which 30 alleged members of the Jalisco Cartel were detained. Nueva Generación (CJNG) and six captive people were released, which strengthens the theory handled by the Prosecutor’s Office that their murder was revenge.
“We have the body of a male that matches in his appearance with that of the partner, in a quick identification by photography the relatives confirm that it is the person,” said the official.
Several signs were found inside but there was still no detailed description, since the operation to find the house in the Ladrón de Guevara neighborhood was only carried out this Tuesday, he said.
Solís preliminarily reported that “machetes and boards to hurt people” were found at the site, confirming that it is a house used by a criminal group.
From the moment the kidnapping took place, many police units undertook the task of searching for their partner in various sectors of the city and the metropolitan area. The prosecution identified some points of coincidence of certain vehicles, with which they arrived at the place.
One of the vehicles that allegedly participated in the police’s deprivation of liberty was also found in the farm’s garage.
