Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Mayor of the City Council, Javier Lira González, denied that permits will be granted to handicraft vendors in a green area between the Fishmarket and Shrimp Bucket restaurants, this on Paseo Olas Altas.

“There is none of that, there is nothing. Most (street vendors) are handicrafts, the majority,” he reiterated.

Lira González assured that the licenses will not be granted because the residents of that sector opposed its installation, so any possibility is definitely canceled.

He said he did not know if the merchants would want to see him in his office to resolve this situation personally, however, he said he was in the best disposition to assist them.

Regarding the merchants who intend to settle in the area of Machado square, he stated that there is still nothing concrete; options are being analyzed.
