TULUM, Quintana Roo.- At least two armed people entered the bar “La Barrita Cantina Mexicana”, in the center of this city, and opened fire on those who were inside, murdering one patron and injuring another.

The attack occurred after midnight, in this business located on Tulum Avenue almost at the corner of Centauro, generating chaos among tourists and locals inside and around the place, which facilitated the escape of these hitmen.

As the crowd fled and the situation calmed down, it was seen that one person was lying on the ground, lifeless, and another lay wounded, shot in the buttock. The deceased was identified as Diego PE, while the injured was rushed to the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen.

Quintana Roo Police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area so that the State Attorney General’s Office could begin its investigations. At least six 9-millimeter caliber caps were found at the site.
