The Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours there were 460 deaths

Ricardo Cortés Alcalá , general director of Health Promotion, reported that this April 30 there are already  216,907 confirmed  deaths  in Mexico from the new coronavirus (COVID-19) . In other words,  in the last 24 hours there were 460 deaths.

Mexico City is the entity with the highest number of active cases (> 3,000 cases) , followed by the State of Mexico, Chihuahua and Tabasco as the entities with more than 1,000 active cases, both of which account for 51% of the active cases in the country.

By calculating the estimated active cases (most suspected active cases with a start date of the last 14 days by the positivity index, by entity and epidemiological week), Mexico City is the entity with the highest number of estimated active cases (> 3,000 cases). At the national level, an estimated 24,739 active cases are calculated.

Likewise, the states with the least active cases are: Campeche (92 infected people), Nayarit (113) and Chiapas (131).

From the National Palace, he pointed out that Mexico City and the State of Mexico are the entities with the highest number of  estimated  active cases (with a start date of the last 14 days due to the positivity index, by entity and epidemiological week). At the national level  , 24,739 infections of this type are calculated.

In addition, there are hundreds of  suspected deaths  that could add to the total in the next few hours. They also counted  1,864,914 recovered  patients and, on the other hand,  7,100,269 people with a complete vaccination scheme were registered .

According to the official, until this Friday there is a  -79% reduction in bed occupancy nationwide  (both general care and ventilators) since the last peak of cases. Regarding general hospital beds  , he  explained that there are 12% of occupied spaces in the country.  No state has between 30% and 49% occupancy.

Likewise, no entity has more than 50% occupancy, since the 32 states report less than 30% occupancy. That is,  of the 30,799 total beds, 27,007 are available and 3,792 are inhabited.

In the case of  beds with mechanical ventilation equipment , used for seriously ill COVID-19 patients, he pointed out that there is a national occupancy of  17%  (with a downward trend) and that only two entities have between 30 and 49% of occupation.

Likewise, there are 30 entities with less than 30% occupancy. In other words, of the 11,010 total beds, there are 9,122 beds available and 1,888 beds occupied. It should be noted that  for several weeks the estimated and active cases of COVID-19 show a sustained decrease.
