Road blockades persist in Oxchuc Chiapas despite negotiations

San Cristóbal de Las Casas.- Despite the fact that representatives of the Community of the Oxchuc municipality held a dialogue table with authorities of the government of that Tseltal Municipality and the state government, the road blockade of the San Cristóbal-Ocosingo section persists, breaking through umpteenth time the minutes.

Sergio López Méndez, representative of 52 communities announced that for next Wednesday, April 28, the municipal president Alfredo Sántiz Gómez and authorities of the State Government were going to present the schedule for the delivery of Copladem support for the amount of 8 thousand pesos, but said agreement was not accepted and they determined the total blockade of both road sections continues.

According to a consensus made on Monday night and early Tuesday morning, the residents agreed to leave the road free until the municipal president makes the payment of the 8 thousand pesos to each person in the communities.

And it is that the meeting that was held by the Curia of the Diocese of San Cristóbal, which lasted more than 10 hours, was useless because the Oxchuc Tseltales removed the fiber optic again for not accepting the agreements, which leaves no telephone signal to a large part of Ocosingo, Yajalón, Tila, Tumbalá, among other municipalities, damage apart from the road closure for more than 15 days.

Unofficial information indicates that the community members had agreed to release the road section once they reached their communities, in addition to accepting the 8 thousand pesos, reflected in a minute, however, apparently someone is behind them and with all the intentions to affect they determined to continue with the blockade that affects thousands of people.
