Mexico’s Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell urges the population to follow sanitary measures in accordance with the epidemiological traffic light in their respective state.

The Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, asks all Mexicans not to relax the sanitary measures against COVID-19, this given the possible arrival of a third wave of infections.

“If we think that way, we would be assuming that it no longer matters that we have the precautionary measures,” said the federal official at a press conference.

López-Gatell recalled that before Easter they warned Mexicans about the risk of a possible increase in infections due to the growing mobility on the streets of towns in cities across Mexico.

In the press conference on Monday, April 26th, the Ministry of Health reported that the number of positive cases amounted to 2,329,534.

Health authorities indicated that deaths from coronavirus increased to 215,113, although experts speculate that this number could be twice as high.
