For Fernando Pucheta and Chemist Benítez, this contest represents the third consecutive time in which sympathy with the electorate has been measured

The first time that they measured their popularity was in the 2016 elections, where Pucheta Sánchez, with the smallest difference in votes, snatched the mayor’s office from Salvador Reynosa of the PAN, leaving Benítez Torres far below the number of votes of both opponents.
In the second, the opposite happened thanks to the tsunami that caused the candidacy of the current president of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, where thanks to this phenomenon the chemist Benítez overcame his closest opponent with more than 10,000 votes, who in this case was Pucheta Sánchez.
Undoubtedly, the dispute between the electorate will be between these two political figures, since one is assisted by their validity among the popular sector because Fernando Pucheta, after having lost the last elections, never put aside proselytism by visiting colonies and bringing support to those in need through his foundation ‘A helping hand’.
While the chemist Benítez Torres is endorsed by these last two years that he exercised power at the head of the municipal public administration, where he managed to position Mazatlán as one of the most renowned beach tourist destinations not only nationally, but also internationally.
The investment that was applied in the work in these last two was very evident, especially due to the approval of the beneficiaries who were mostly from popular neighborhoods where they were not charged a single peso for the paving and other works that were executed.
A third candidate who half stirs the waters is Martín Heredia Lizárraga, but not because of the electorate’s preference, but because he has stood out for emigrating from party to party.
However, he has been identified more for belonging to the ranks of the National Action Party, acronyms with which he served as Federal Deputy for District 01, and more recently he was also a candidate for the state government for the same party.
The coin is in the air at this point there is nothing for anyone, however, the strongest candidates and those who have done the most political work with the electorate are the flag-bearers of Morena-PAS and the PRI-PAN-PRD alliance.
