They assure that more actions are needed to stop crime in the port
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The lack of immediate response, vocation for work, turning a blind eye and the absence of surveillance in the colonies are factors that influence the incidence of crime to remain in the port.
In a survey carried out by El Sol de Mazatlán, citizens indicated that they are fearful and that they have long lost trust in the authorities.
José Miguel considers that Mazatlán is not a safe city, since violent events continually occur, only that not all of them are made known in the media.
“It is not a safe Mazatlán, many things happen, now that they found the two people hanging. There is no need for more surveillance and patrol rounds; recently they assaulted my friend at 8:00 at night, they took his pay and a bicycle and the police, when they are occupied, are not there, “he considered.
Giovanni says that it is not necessary for a citizen to be a victim of a crime to realize that there is no security, which must be reinforced in the popular neighborhoods.
“It has not been my turn to be a victim of something, at least I see that here in the center of the city or in the tourist area if there is too much security, but in the popular neighborhoods it is necessary to strengthen surveillance a lot,” he said.
For his part, José points out that the port still needs to be a safe city. He mentions that there are very specific and well-known points in the city where they meet to commit crimes and although the authorities know it, they turn a blind eye.
“They still lack, for example in drug matters, the Municipal Police patrol passes and turns a blind eye and the same happens with all security institutions, they already know that they are there and do nothing,” he said.
Don Ángel expresses that it is a matter of abuse of power and corruption since there is a certain distrust towards those in charge of providing security to citizens since all they want is money.
“Everyone who has power ignores those who do not have, they are just policemen and believe themselves to be the ‘mother of the chicks’. It is rather an abuse of power, they lack more vocation for work, what moves them is the money, “he said.
Bulmaro believes that in security matters what fails is the immediate response from the authorities since they are never there when they need them.
“There is no immediate response from the authorizations, they take a long time, both to go to the scene of the events and in the lawsuit process itself. Impunity encourages those who carry out these acts to continue doing them.”
