Armed men attack Covid Vaccination Brigade in Michoacán

Fortunatley, the brigade personnel were unharmed; and the state authoritie managed to arrest one of armed men, along with weapons, drugs, useful cartridges and vehicles used in illicit activities.

A group of armed men attacked a Covid-19 vaccination brigade made up of an ambulance and agents of the local police, in the municipality of Tangancícuaro, Michoacán.

The attack occurred on Friday, April 16th, on the Tangancícuaro-Patamban highway section, near the town of Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, where the brigade personnel was unharmed, according to La Voz de Michoacán.

Given this, security authorities deployed an operation to find the aggressors, and successfully detained a person who allegedly participated in the attack, and they also secured weapons, drugs, useful cartridges and vehicles.

This was the result of work carried out by personnel from the Secretariats of Public Security (SSP), National Defense (Sedena), and the National Guard (GN).

Likewise, Michoacán Police officers, in coordination with the Mexican Army and the GN, implemented a security device in the area.

In this deployment, the seizure of a male person, 5 firearms, 6 vehicles related to illicit activities, 344 useful cartridges of different calibers, and 68 packages with dried herb, apparently marijuana, were achieved.
