These are the most sought after national destinations for Easter
The main beaches and cities of the country are among the most attractive places for tourists during the current holiday season.

This Easter, Mexicans are thinking of traveling to different national destinations that offer them a little relaxation. And in this way recover energy after the long months of confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite sanitary restrictions, the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) estimates that during this holiday period hotel occupancy will reach 58% in the country and the main beaches will receive a good part of these tourists.

An Assist Card report highlights that in recent months the interest of Mexicans has increased in traveling, especially through domestic tourism, which continues as the main trend to decide to go on vacation.


According to this document, the following are the most sought-after national destinations for Easter. In the first place, Cancun appears, whose wonderful beaches have positioned it among the most relevant sites and that the greatest exclusivity can offer to spend a few days admiring the sunsets in the Mexican Caribbean.

In the second position is Acapulco, which due to its proximity to Mexico City continues to be a good option for the inhabitants of the center of the country. Acapulco Dorado and the Diamante area are the ones that are attracting the most national travelers these days.

For its part, Tijuana appears in these trends, probably encouraged by the new travel characteristics that look for nearby places to reach by car. Therefore, this border city in northern Mexico can be a good alternative for those who live near that region. In recent years, its gastronomic proposal and cultural life have gained importance as a tourist attraction.

While the golden beaches of Mazatlán are located in the fourth place to spend the holidays at Easter. This enclave in Sinaloa already attracts visitors from Durango, Torreón, Zacatecas and Jalisco.

Finally, the city of Monterrey was placed in the fifth position to show itself as a different alternative to the sun and the beach. It also has a good gastronomic and cultural proposal to the delight of passers-by.
