Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- In Mazatlán , the crimes that remain in red due to the number of complaints are kidnapping, injuries, and femicide, while vehicle theft, houses, and businesses remain on a yellow alert, along with family violence, a category in which the figures have doubled during the first two months of the year.
According to information published by Semáforo Delictivo , in the first two months of the year, 248 investigation folders were prepared for 11 of the most common crimes, of which 102 correspond to the month of January and 146 to February.
The crimes of kidnapping, extortion, injuries, and rape also showed an increase this year compared to the statistics for January and February 2020.
In the present municipal administration, the crimes that register an upward trend are family violence, with 985 accumulated complaints in the last two years; rape with 1,037 complaints, and business robbery, with 145.
With regard to family violence, in 2017 there were 397 complaints filed with the Public Ministry, in Mazatlán, while in 2018 the number of cases increased to 442, and in 2019 there was a slight decrease, when 438 complaints were registered, four fewer than the previous year; but in 2020, the number rose to 499 cases, the highest number in the last four years.
In the first two months of this year, family violence grew from 14 to 34 complaints, more than double.
In the case of violations, in 2017 there were 44 complaints, in 2018 it increased to 56, in 2019 52 cases were reported and in 2020, 51 were accumulated. In the first two months of 2021, there were 9 cases, against January 7 and February of last year.

Regarding the crime of business robbery, the incidence increased in the last year from 65 cases to 70.
At the state level, red alert crimes are business robbery, injury, and family violence, while home-robbery, rape, and femicide appear in yellow.
