The negative Covid-19 test should not be more than 72 hours old, in addition to presenting the original, copy, and proof of payment.
In order to avoid a new increase in coronavirus infections, the Sonora Ministry of Health will request a negative test for Covid-19 of the PCR type or antigens for visitors to its beaches and tourist locations during Holy Week that goes from March 26 to April 11, 2021.
The test of Covid-19 negative should be no more than 72 hours of being issued by the laboratory, which also must present the original, a copy, and proof of payment.
In addition to the negative test, among other measures that will be in force at Easter and Semana Santa will be the sanitary filters on roads, beaches, and tourist locations. Accommodation reservations or proof of address will also be requested.
For visitors who do not have a reservation or address in the tourist place or beach, they will be allowed to enter the sites from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. if they present their negative tests for Covid-19; residents or people with reservations will have open hours.
These measures were published in the update of the Sonora Anticipa Map with the risks by municipality and Ground Zero.
According to the Sonora Anticipa Map, the entity is located with eight points on the national traffic light, so if it increases one more point it would return to yellow.
During the week of March 22 to 28, the municipalities of Sonora that are in “Medium Risk” are: Caborca, Hermosillo, Guaymas, Empalme, Cajeme and Navojoa; and at Low Risk: San Luis Río Colorado, Puerto Peñasco, Nogales, Agua Prieta, Cananea and Huatabampo.
The head of the Secretary of Health of Sonora, Enrique Clausen, pointed out that coordinated work will continue with federal, state, and municipal authorities to join efforts to help stop more Covid-19 infections.
Other measures for Easter in Sonora
During Easter and discos and nightclubs will be closed, restaurants must close at 10:00 p.m. and the beaches will close to the public at 8:00 p.m., where mass events and alcohol sales cannot be held.
While the Casinos operate at 50% capacity without a track and all seated; bars, canteens, and nightclubs serve as restaurants. Mass events are suspended, gyms operate without music and in silence.
From March 16 to March 21, 2021, 68,660 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Sonora, with 5,913 deaths from the disease.
