TOURIST DIES AFTER BEING SWEPT AWAY BY THE WAVES IN ZIHUATANEJO

Zihuatanejo, Guerrero.- A woman from Michoacán who was out for a walk in Zihuatanejo was swept away by the waves on the island of Ixtapa after which she was treated by technicians in the Medical Emergencies, who took her to the General Hospital of Zihuatanejo, where she died.

The victim of the incident is identified as María de la Luz BV, 44, who apparently entered the sea to swim, but was caught by the waves, after which the help of lifeguards was requested, who upon seeing the woman in the situation she was in, they took her to the pier of Playa Linda.

The woman was later taken to the hospital, where despite the efforts of medical personnel to try to help her, she lost her life.

The misfortune was notified to the staff of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), to carry out the lifting of the body and transfer it to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for the corresponding post-mortem surgery.
