The Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the fault is in the brake pedal plate since there is a risk that it has not been welded correctly.

The Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Oce ( Profeco ) issued an alert on the call for a review of the automotive company Volkswagen de México SA DE CV (Volkswagen de México), representing the Seat brand, its Tarraco vehicles, the model year 2020

And the fact is that there is the eventual possibility that the brake pedal plate has not been welded correctly, so it could be deformed and in the event of an emergency braking, the efficiency could decrease, increasing the risk of an accident.

Because of this, it is necessary to check the vehicles to determine if the brake pedal is replaced. Volkswagen de México notified the attorney general’s office that the total number of possibly affected units that have been marketed in Mexico is 40 units.

This campaign will be valid for approximately 12 months from January 28, 2021.

For its part, Volkswagen de México and its Network of Authorized Seat Dealers will make known the necessary information to their customers of the service campaign, which includes the steps that the consumer must follow for its execution and
clarification of the corresponding doubts.
