Mazatlán, Sin.- The second long weekend exceeded expectations in hotel occupancy, as it was reported up to 80%, one of the highest percentages since the tourist reopening in July 2020.

The representative of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Mazatlán, José Gámez Valle, assured that this occupation was mainly due to the demand of tourists who decided to come to Mazatlán at the last minute.

“There were beach hotels in Mazatlán that were at 90%, but I think that on average we reached between 75 and 80%, people came last minute, not because they had booked in advance, as was customary before the pandemic. Covid-19, ”he said.

He explained that Saturday was full, Sunday the occupancy was good and that next weekend looks good with the soccer game of Mazatlán FC against America.

The next weekend looks good too, not like this one, but this can be good practice for Easter.

For his part, the president of the Tres Islas Hotels and Motels Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, reported that the average occupancy was 64%, the highest point was reached on Saturday, and Sunday most of the tourists returned. to their cities of origin.

During the weekend, hundreds of tourists could be observed on the Malecón, the Historic Center, the Golden Zone, in public transport, and in restaurants.
