Marco Cancino puts more than 2,000 people at risk in full contingency due to COVID-19; authorities denounce it.

A massive event was held with more than 2,000 people who were agglomerated on the afternoon of Saturday, March 13, in the parking lot of the “Hermanos Domínguez” City Theater, after the organizers of the “Chiapas Unido” political party called in favor of the former mayor, Marco Cancino.
Given the refusal of the warning made by the Civil Protection Directorate to the organizers, who did not take any health measures in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, the San Cristóbal de Las Casas City Council filed a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office.
Elements of the municipal Civil Protection Directorate, went to the place to speak with the organizer of the event and thus notify him that by dispositions of the Federal and State Health Secretariat; Even when the epidemiological traffic light is green in the state of Chiapas, massive events with large crowds of people are suspended , after having issued a series of basic sanitary measures such as keeping a healthy distance, the use of face masks, and avoid massive crowds of people.
Given this notification, one of the event organizers attacked municipal Civil Protection personnel and ignored the suspension of the event, in which older adults, infants and other people were present without taking preventive measures of healthy distance and use of face masks.
The case is already in the hands of the conducting authorities, who will determine the legal process for the aforementioned complaint.
Let us remember that only in Chiapas, there are more than 10, 226 confirmed cases of COVID patients and around 1500 deaths caused by the same virus.
