How and when will the 2021 tourist expo be in Mazatlán?

The tourist tianguis “expo” organized in the port has so far more than 500 requests to participate

2021 will be a year that, like 2020, will be marked by the ravages of the pandemic caused by Covid-19 in the world and Mexico has not been the exception, however, there is good news for the inhabitants of the port of Mazatlán that this year they will host the annual edition of Tianguis Turístico Digital 2021, the second event of its kind in Mexico.

So far, the event already has more than 500 registrations of interested parties to participate in the working groups on the tourism industry in Mexico; Sinaloa will be in charge of welcoming the guests of this world-renowned party.  

The appointment for the virtual meeting will be held on March 23 and 24 of this year. It should be noted that Mazatlán with all its attractiveness in terms of tourism, will be host for the second time in less than five years, since in 2018 the event was held in person, this time the party will be in a virtual environment, in September it will return to its usual format based in Mérida, Yucatán and in 2022 it will return to its usual place, the port of Acapulco .

Why Mazatlán?

The Port of Mazatlán is one of the busiest and most beautiful places on the Mexican coast, not for nothing is it known as “The Pearl of the Pacific”, its main attractions include its extensive hotel and service infrastructure, as well as its tourist attractions such as the Malecón, the Mazatlán Aquarium, Plazuela Machado, the high waves beach, the centennial promenade and of course the maritime terminal.  

Authorities entrusted to the call

The presentation was made through a videoconference led by the federal Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and the Governor of Sinaloa, Quirino Ordaz Coppel .

“Today is a very important day for Sinaloa, very especially for Mazatlán, in a very particular way, I want to thank our friends very much, for giving us great confidence in Sinaloa, and the municipal and state government of Sinaloa,” said the state agent in his presentation.

While the municipal president of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, was enthusiastic to take charge of the most important event in the tourism industry in the country.

For his part, the head of  SECTUR, informed that to date the attendance of 512 buyers from 374 companies from 31 countries and the participation of 116 exhibitors has already been confirmed

Finally, he pointed out that the estimated figures for the event will be around 250 exhibitors and 1,965 buyers from 45 countries, for the celebration of 27,600 business meetings.
