40 alleged members of the Sinaloa and Tijuana cartels arrested in different parts of Mexico

Mexico City (February 1, 2021).- In different actions carried out in the northeast of the country, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) detained about 40 alleged members of the Sinaloa and Tijuana cartels and seized almost one ton of methamphetamine and two tons of the drug known as Crystal.

These actions include six searches carried out in Tijuana, Baja California, where 16 people were detained with five kilograms of methamphetamine and more than one hundred useful cartridges.

In Culiacán, Sinaloa, an operation carried out in the Las Quintas neighborhood secured 980 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Also in Chihuahua, 10 people were apprehended with different amounts of methamphetamine and crystal, as well as cash.

Other similar actions were carried out in Durango, Baja California Sur, and Sonora, where in addition to drugs, chemical precursors, vehicles, buildings, and firearms were secured.
