Army elements seized an aircraft in Campeche that entered illegally in the country through the southern border transporting 350 kilos of what is presumed to be cocaine, in addition to firearms. The soldiers in charge of the Comprehensive Air Surveillance System of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) detected that the plane was trying to enter the national territory illegally.

For this reason, the air interception units, surveillance platforms, as well as the ground and airborne reaction forces were deployed to cover the probable landing areas and prevent them from escaping.

As a result, it was determined that the aircraft would land in the municipality of Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, so troops assigned to the 33 Military Zone, who were already in the area, managed to secure the Cessna-type aircraft with apparent false registration.

Inside the Cessna 380 packages were found containing a substance with characteristics typical of cocaine, weighing approximately 350 kilograms, four military weapons, and useful cartridges pending for counting.

The cargo was taken to the corresponding authorities, who will be responsible for determining the chemical compound and the official weight through expert reports.

During the current administration, the Comprehensive Air Surveillance System of the SEDENA has managed to secure 81 illegal aircraft and more than 11 tons of cocaine.
