35-year-old Jeydi “N” was murdered this weekend in Quintana Roo; his body was abandoned near the Mártires Antorchistas neighborhood of Chetumal.
Reports indicate that the woman’s remains were inside a bag and showed obvious signs of violence.
According to the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office, Jeydi’s body was fully identified by her family.
The prosecution indicated that an anonymous call, reported the finding of the remains of Jeydi, the Investigative Police was tipped off
“Experts from various specialties collected evidence of the case to incorporate them into the investigation folder and transferred the body to the Forensic Medical Service,” State Attorney added.
The authorities carry out the femicide protocol to identify those responsible for the murder of the woman.
It is worth mentioning that, until October 2020, there is an official record of 777 femicides in the country, 11 of which belong to Quintana Roo.
The last case in the state was Bianca Alexis, a young woman murdered in Cancun after leaving her home to sell the products she offered on the Internet.
The feminicide of the young woman generated a massive protest outside the municipal palace of the region.
Feminist collectives and civil society organizations are also preparing a protest against Jeydi’s femicide.
