Report of coronavirus cases in Yucatan on December 1, 2020: 99 new infections and 6 deaths

MÉRIDA, Yuc.- After more than a week with more than 100 daily cases of coronavirus in Yucatán the number is finally decreasing, since this Tuesday there were 99 infections officially announced by the State Health Department.

With this, there are already 23,979 infections in the state since the beginning of the pandemic, and 84 percent of them correspond to people who have been cured of the disease, that is, 20,361 cases.

In addition to the 99 new infections, 6 deaths were reported on December 1, for a total of 2,699 deaths due to Covid-19 in Yucatan.

Coronavirus infections in municipalities
Of the 99 infections today, 64 were located in Mérida, 11 in Valladolid, 4 in Tizimín, 3 in Motul, 2 in Cebotillo, Espita, Kanasín, Tinum and Umán, and 1 in Akil, Cacalchén, Chichimilá, Izamal, Kantunil, Sotuta and Ticul.

In Mérida, there are 14,125 positive cases, divided into 4,059 in the north, 3,988 in the east, 1,353 in the center, 1870 in the south, and 2,855 in the west part of the city.

Today’s 6 deaths were reported, 4 men and 2 women, aged from 59 to 71 years old, who suffered from hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and asthma. Of them, 4 resided in Mérida, 1 in Dzoncauich, and 1 was a foreigner.

Regarding the active cases, the Health Department reports that 766 are stable, with mild symptoms and isolated in their homes, and 153 are in hospitals and in total isolation.

The age range of positive cases remains from one month to 99 years.
