The fishing community of Puerto Lobos, Sonora, managed to rescue 30 dolphins stranded on the beach at noon this Saturday, November 7th.

Thanks to the determined work of women and men led by Yaneth Ruiz and Poncho Hernández, all the specimens returned alive to the open sea.

Just last September 8, these fishermen, dedicated to diving to remove clams and snails, rescued four bottlenose dolphins, a species under “Special Protection” according to the Official Mexican Standard 059.

The specimens are regularly stranded when approaching the coast in search of food.
