AMLO suspends Sinaloa tour to visit his flooded home state Tabasco

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador interrupted his work tour of Nayarit and Sinaloa in order to travel to his home state Tabasco to attend to the emergency due to the floods caused by the abundant rains.

President López Obrador said that he will fly from Tepic, Nayarit to Tabasco in a Mexican Air Force plane with the Secretary of Defense, General Luis Cresencio Sandoval.

Through a message, the president pointed out that “there is an emergency situation in Tabasco, I have been monitoring the overflow of the rivers and especially the situation of the Peñitas dam, which is the one that could flood the Tabasco plain “.

He said that the Peñitas dam is full at 100% and an exhaust has been programmed.

“Around dawn, the dam received an enormous amount of water and is completely full and the volume of exhaust had to be increased,” said the president.

“I’m going there to be aware of this situation, we need to be where it is most required, where the humble people who need us most,” AMLO concluded.
