Mazatlán.- On the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Friends of Mazatlán Party, an event designed to promote tourism in the international market, from 06:00 hours this Tuesday until 08:00 hours tomorrow Wednesday, there will be road closures.

The Government of Mazatlán, where the waves break, the city of Carnival, calls on citizens to take their precautions and use the alternative routes.

The roads that will be maintained for more than 24 hours with the closure to vehicular traffic are:

  • Paseo Claussen and Avenida Olas Altas, from Zaragoza to Mariano Escobedo.
  • Ángel Flores, between Paseo Claussen and Venus.
  • Mariano Escobedo, between Olas Altas and Venus.
  • Venus, between Ángel Flores and Mariano Escobedo.
  • Malpica, between Olas Altas and Venus.

From October 27 to 30, the party

The 25th edition of the Friends of Mazatlán Party takes place in the port from the 27th to the 30th of this month, whose objective is to promote the cultural wealth and tourist attractions of Mazatlán in the international market.

In the port there are around 200 operators, wholesalers, national and international airlines and travel agents, who will promote Mazatlán as one of the most important beach destinations in Mexico, through their local experience.

The Convention Center is the headquarters where the business appointments that began this Tuesday from 9:00 am, with previously registered companies and tour operators, will take place.

The Friends of Mazatlán Party includes the presentation of the comprehensive Central Park project, the delivery of the Golden Deer awards, to the agents or companies that have contributed the most this year in promoting the port, and a trip to the El Recodo community.

Due to the importance of holding the traditional Friends of Mazatlán Party, since it is the most important business meeting point for this tourist destination, the decision was made not to cancel it, but to do it through a hybrid format, it is In other words, the 474 business appointments already agreed will be both face-to-face and virtual, through videoconferences.

This was announced by the State Secretary of Tourism, Óscar Pérez Barros, who reported that this 2020 edition will be number 26, which will take place from October 27 to 30, following all the protocols recommended by the Ministry of Health, to avoid contagions of COVID 19, now in the middle of this global pandemic.

The state official explained that the intention of holding this event is to take advantage of the opportunity to show first-hand all the international protocols and certifications that the destination has, such as Preverisk and the Health Badges issued by the State Government, which They have been endorsed by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

He reported that this edition will feature the participation of 19 national meeting planners that represent 60 percent of the events that take place in Mexico, which translates into a great area of ​​opportunity for Mazatlán.

Some of those who attend are: BTC, 4F, Travitec, Estracom, Imagine Events and National Hosts, in addition to the main buyers of the destination such as wholesale agencies, airlines, OTA’s, to mention some American Airlines, Volaris, Euromundo, Imacop, Naturleón, Best Day and Apple Leisure Group.

“The segment of tourism for meetings is of great importance, and it has been part of the strategy that we have promoted for some years, with which we managed not to have such a marked temporality in the destination,” he added.

Secretary Oscar Pérez Barros specified that Mazatlán has already hosted events governed by the new normality, for example the first hybrid event was the Omnilife National Meeting in September, and in a few days the “Mexico Business Summit” will be held. , and another example is precisely Fiesta Amigos.

“With the holding of this event, we continue to position Mazatlán as the destination in Mexico that has had the best and fastest reactivation after the closure of activities due to the Covid 19 pandemic,” he said.
