Reynosa, Tamaulipas (October 21, 2020).— Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca inaugurated in this city the Regional Public Security Complex, one of the four buildings that are being built in the state with an investment of more than 960 million pesos.
He was accompanied by Yolanda Parra, Consul General of the United States in Matamoros; Congressman Henry Cuéllar and Carlos Rodríguez, director of International Bridges in the United States.
In addition, authorities from the Department of State, National Security, Immigration and Customs Control Services, state authorities and businessmen were present at the inauguration.
The building, located on the Reynosa Viaducto, has 9,587 square meters of construction and will house 1,152 agents of the State Police.
The building consists of three levels where the main areas will be the administrative, the bedrooms and the dining room.
It also has an infantry field, its own gas station, a multipurpose field, an ammunition warehouse, a tactical weapons area, and an infirmary.
The state governor stressed that with these works, trust is generated among the families living on both sides of the border.
“So much so that one of the most successful programs in modern history to combat crime began in Tamaulipas, with the Wanted campaign, and the Welfare and Prosperity and Border Security campaign between the state government and seven agencies in the US, “he said.
“Through these programs, it has been possible to locate the main generators of violence and leaders of criminal groups,” said the governor.
“Most of these objectives have been captured and that is part of the coordination that we have with these agencies, but above all, the trust between Tamaulipas and the United States, so we continue working not only to maintain peace, order and the rule of law but rather to promote trust, investment and development ”, he pointed out.
