Different tourist destinations in Mexico will receive travelers via Mazatlan.
The worst of the Covid-19 pandemic is over, says the Mayor of San José del Cabo, BCS, Belizario Reyes.
Boosting and promoting destinations throughout Mexico on the Golden Tourist Route, both nationally and internationally to attract more visitors to the country, was one of the four agreements convened at the Second National Convention 2020 of Tourist Care and Protection Centers.
“In the meeting held on October 16th and 17th in Mazatlán, in which mayors and CAPTA directors of some municipalities participated, it was also agreed to promote the National System of Attention and Protection of the Tourist, linking it to the Executive Secretariat of National Public Security and the federal authorities of Tourism and Health”, said the Mayor of Mazatlán in a press conference at the Angela Peralta Theater.
“It was also agreed to promote a campaign and/or movement for Tourism Promotion with the participation of the Communication Council “The Voice of Companies”, and in the fourth point, it was agreed that the National Meeting of CAPTA 2021 will be held during the first week of February of next year in Acapulco, Guerrero, which was where the first of these centers was created”, said Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.
At the conference, the Mayor of San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Armida Castro Guzmán, stated that normally the Mayors had the task and responsibility to promote the tourist destinations of their municipalities, but as of Friday with the so-called Golden Tourist Route, the municipal presidents attending the Second CAPTA Meeting in Mazatlán, join in promoting the different destinations in Mexico.
“Today we join the great need to promote destinations, and what are we going to promote? What we already have and what we can offer together with businessmen from all the country’s municipalities, a national call in which if you are going to travel, start traveling through Mexico, “stressed Castro Guzmán.
The destinations promoted as part of this Tourist Route that was agreed on Friday, October 16th in Mazarlán are Acapulco, Guerrero; Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco; Teotihuacán, State of Mexico; Zacatecas; Durango, Coatzacoalcos, Navojoa, Sonora, Rosarito Beaches.
“It seeks to invite tourists to visit these municipalities, which together with the health, economic, and business development authorities to attract visitors”, he continued.
“Photographic exhibitions will beheld in Mazatlan and Los Cabos where both national and foreign visitors can get to know those other tourist destinations”, said the Municipal President of San José del Cabo.
“The idea is to let the tourists know that there are other options in this great country that offer culture, history, gastronomy, and many other attractions”, said Castro Guzman.
It was also specified that if you want to know about history, Teotihuacán is in the first place, in gastronomy there is for example Navojoa, Sonora, or what about Mazatlán and Acapulco, the first beach tourist destinations in the history of Mexico.
He also stressed that all the destinations that participated in the CAPTA meeting put safety first, they have new security protocols in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, they work closely with businessmen to guarantee a healthy vacation to all travelers.
“We will continue training staff, we will continue working with the new guidelines, with the rules (to prevent the contagion of Covid-19) and of course we believe that the worst has passed, we started with partial mobility, a mobility that is increasing gradually, our destination is better than ever, “stressed the Mayor of San José del Cabo, BCS.
At the same event, twinning agreements were signed between Mazatlán and Acapulco, Guerrero; Navojoa, Sonora; Acapulco and Teotihuacán, State of Mexico, Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz; San José del Cabo, BCS, and the twinning agreement that had existed since 2014 with Matamoros, Tamaulipas, was renewed.
The twinning was signed by the respective Mayors.
In addition, recognitions were given to the participants in the Second National Meeting of CAPTA.
