According to SkyAlert, the volcano registered a continuous ash emission since 5:00 in the morning of this Wednesday, which is dispersing towards the State of Mexico, with the probability of reaching the southern and eastern city halls of the City of Mexico.

For its part, Civil Protection reported that in the last 24 hours there were 104 exhalations and 483 minutes of tremor, accompanied by emissions of volcanic gases and sometimes light amounts of ash.

In the recent update of the National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) , during the night of Tuesday, October 6 and this morning, the emission of water vapor, gas and ash was observed in a northwesterly direction.

Given this, the different authorities invited the population not to approach this volcano and its crater.

It is worth mentioning that since the end of September, Popocatepetl has shown activity and until today it has kept most of the days at a yellow traffic light, being until now one of the days with the most exhalations.

In social networks, this event has caused astonishment, since many add it to the recent phenomena that have occurred in Mexico such as Hurricane Delta and what is believed to be the fall of a meteorite in Tamaulipas.
