The tourist reactivation of Puerto Vallarta continues, in a responsible way but without losing its great events, so with a message of resilience the details of what will be the 12th edition of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomic hybrid edition, which will be held from 29 to October 31, with the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center Puerto Vallarta hotel as its main venue, and a series of private events throughout the Bay of Banderas.

The event will be attended by 27 outstanding chefs, 9 sommeliers, and mixologists, both from home and guests, as well as 6 international chefs, Michelin stars, and Master Chef, who will be integrated via virtual, taking advantage of technology to transmit their knowledge and culinary wisdom from another cities and countries.

“This year more than ever we feel supportive and responsible, in the need to support the destination, for making this wonderful place a world leader again and supporting the tourism and gastronomy industry that is vital for this region with thousands of people depending on this activity ”, highlighted Carlos Elizondo, founder and director of the event. The businessman celebrated the collective effort that has made it possible to celebrate in the most adverse circumstances, “with the support of the authorities of the two levels of government, the sponsoring brands, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Promotion and Advertising Trust and its homologous organism of Riviera Nayarit, and, of course, of all the local talent personified in the chefs and mixologists of the bay who have been the greatest of the endorsements ”.

On the occasion, Consuelo Elipe, founder and organizer of the event, commented that in this year of challenges, the opportunity to carry out Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica 2020 was not missed, “special hybrid edition, with a different format, adapted to health circumstances, but keeping the objectives that we have had since the first edition: to maintain the formative spirit, bring in the world’s most important chefs, sommeliers and guests and be a stage for all the brands and institutions that work for the sector, in effective networking ”.

For his part, the Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco, Germán Ralis Cumplido congratulated the organizers, said that in this reactivation we are going through steps in a complex process taking into account that health is the most important thing, “but fortunately there is creativity and energy to make important events stay current in Puerto Vallarta’s calendar of activities ”.

Culinary experiences

Thanks to the wide and recognized gastronomy of Puerto Vallarta, tourists who arrive at the destination will have a difficult decision when choosing which dish to taste, from traditional food to sophisticated international cuisine. That is why Luis Villaseñor, Internal Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Promotion Trust, said he was proud that this type of world-class events are reaching the destination to offer visitors new culinary experiences, at a crucial moment for this city. that has made great strides in its economic and tourist reopening reflected in its new campaign “Revive, Tu Deseo de Viajar”.

It was mentioned that Spain will be a guest country for another year, and as invited states, there will be the presence of representatives of Chihuahua and Guanajuato. 

Some of the novelties highlighted by the organizers include that the face-to-face event will have showcookings and conferences from some of the best chefs in Mexico such as Mikel Alonso, from the Lur restaurant in CDMX; Pablo Salas, from the Amaranta restaurant in Toluca, State of Mexico and Jonatan Gómez Luna, from the Le Chique restaurant in Cancun, Quintana Roo, as well as Carlos Gaytán, from the Tzuco restaurant in Chicago, United States; Bricio Domínguez, from the Jardín de los Milagros restaurant in Guanajuato; Fabián Delgado, from Pal Real in Guadalajara.

There will also be a virtual event with Michelin star chefs and other prominent chefs from different countries, and there will be streaming transmission of the highlights of the event. In addition to this there will be a broadcast of unpublished capsules of the event in subsequent weeks with the main guests.

Also in person, five pairing dinners will be offered with the most outstanding chefs in two days.

Among the Michelin star chefs and virtual Master Chef who will participate, it is worth mentioning the Spanish Pablo González from the restaurant La Cabaña de Murcia, Juan Lu Ferrnández from Lu Cocina and Alma de Cadiz. Kisco García from the Choco de Córdoba restaurant. Diego Gallegos, from the Sollo restaurant in Malaga. Begoña Rodrigo from the restaurant La Salita, Farcit and El Huerto de Valencia and Inés Páez Nin, chef Tita from the restaurant Travesías de República Dominicana.

It is also relevant to mention that the chefs from the house Mauricio Leal and Josué Jiménez, from the Icú restaurant; Joel Ornelas, from Tintoque; Emma Bonilla, from Vegan Bomb; Memo Wulff, from Barrio Bistro; Polo Cortés, by D’Cortés; Blanca Hernández Vázquez, Oscar Osuna and Rafael Castillo, from Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center; Sebastián Varona Domblas, from Villa Premiere, as well as Alex Gómez and Nicolás Cano from the Jardín Nebulosa restaurant in San Sebastián del Oeste.
