Pedro Modesto Santos, municipal president of Santa Cruz Xitla, a town in the Sierra Sur region, died of health complications as a result of coronavirus in Oaxaca.
The death raised ten dead mayors in addition to a trustee, two councilors, and a municipal secretary derived from the covid disease19.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, the governor, Alejandro Murat confirmed the death and offered his condolences, in addition, he defined him as a person “always ready to work for the good of the municipality.”
According to the health services in the entity, six months after the declaration of the pandemic there are 1,411 deaths and 15,802 accumulated cases in Oaxaca.
Likewise, there is a registry of 101 municipalities with the presence of the virus in an active stage; the city of Oaxaca reports the highest incidence of infections, with 53 in the last 24 hours.
The epidemiological report of this date reported 28 municipal authorities with positive symptoms for Covid-19.
