The destination could be at 60 percent of its hotel capacity

Mazatlán, Sinaloa- Despite the fact that the holiday for Mexico’s Independence Day will be during the week (Wednesday), hotels have positive expectations.

José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, highlighted that the hotels of this association (mostly those in the El Malecón area) expect to have average reservations of up to 50 percent.

Likewise, he said he did not know if any of these hotels already have 100 percent of their reserved rooms.

On the other hand, the dispatch manager of the Sedectur in Mazatlán, Luis Terán Tirado, commented that until last weekend the average hotel occupancy of the destination was already at 60 percent.

However, he pointed out that the figure could increase as there are tourists who arrive at the last minute without prior reservation.
