The Labor Attorney’s Office registers a notable increase in advice to people who were unemployed

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Labor Attorney’s Office reported that the increase in unjustified dismissals during the health emergency is alarming.

The delegate of the Attorney General’s Office in the south of the state , Martín Luis Morales Acuña, pointed out that the hotel and restaurant sectors and the private educational system are the most reported.

Attentions

Morales Acuña explained that they have registered for each private educational establishment, from 10 to 20 people, which seems to him an alarming number.

It is a notorious job loss, said the labor attorney.

Martín Morales said that the dismissal directly affects the economy of the owner of each business, but above all that of the families.

In the offices of the Labor Prosecutor’s Office , around 200 people attend weekly to receive advice, dismissal reports and request information for profits.

The leader of the defense of labor said that some companies have not given them the utility bonus on the grounds of the health emergency.

Martín Morales Acuña clarified that the profits have to be delivered as they correspond to 2019 , and they have to be delivered this year.

Discrimination

The prosecutor explained that many cases of pregnant women have reached the offices, who, despite their condition, have been fired.

Morales Acuña declared that in these cases, the employer incurs a crime called employment discrimination. The crime is foreseen and sanctioned in the Penal Code of the State of Sinaloa.

In previous years, many women did not report job discrimination for fear of retaliation, she said.
Morales urges the workers to seek advice at the offices. The opening hours are from 08:00 to 15:00.

Inside the offices, they comply with sanitary measures and work rotating shifts.
