Guanajuato, Guanajuato- The Municipal Civil Protection Directorate has detected almost twenty points of risk of flooding and waterlogging in the capital.

The foregoing on the eve of the start of the rainy season in the municipality, which is estimated to last until August.

José Félix Pérez , director of Municipal Civil Protection, pointed out that the contingency plan for the municipality’s rainy season has already been delivered to the State Civil Protection, an agency that validated it.

The municipal official explained that there are 16 points of risk of flooding and puddling, which have been detected in the capital, but most are in the downtown area.

He said: “Most are flooding, very few are flooding, of the latter, the Underground, the Arboledas and Arroyo Verde neighborhood , flooding, are Pastitos and El Cantador.”

He explained that nine houses are also located in different degrees of risk of collapse, of which the majority are in the Callejón de Cinco Señores, but the one with the greatest danger of collapse is in the Callejón del Muerto.

“That is at high risk of collapse, we approached the owners again, and they ignore it, it is their responsibility if any situation happens with those homes.”

He argued that in addition to the review of flooding and flooding risk points, it works in coordination with SIMAPAG and Parks and Gardens to clear up sewers and prune trees in poor condition that are in danger of falling, to prevent the next rainy season from happening some mishap.
