Puerto Vallarta hotels have agreed that if operations can be resumed, but only at 20% of their capacity and with sanitary protocols, starting next Monday. This was also ordered by the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, who, however, warned that tourism “would be one of the last activities to return to normality.”

Although their return is allowed, in fact there are several hotels that have decided not to open, since their operations depend on an international chain that makes decisions outside the local sphere, and in the context of the pandemic they remain closed.

Likewise, the hotels that decide whether to open, will only offer accommodation in 20% of their rooms, and will not be able to use the pool, meeting centers or lobbies.

In addition, all beaches will be closed until further notice, as well as the Malecon and the nightclubs, clubs, bars and other places that Puerto Vallarta would usually offer to tourism.

“That we are in Phase Zero (of the economic reactivation) does not mean that people can already go on a vacation to Puerto Vallarta,” said the governor, presenting an economic plan for the return to the so-called “new normal”.
