The Captaincy of the Port of Mazatlán confirmed that there are three infected ships

Mazatlán, Sin.- The contagion of Covid-19 is increasing in the tuna vessels of the Mazatlán fleet, to date, there are three of a fleet of 33 ships, with 23 positive cases, one deceased, 26 suspects, and 26 negatives.

The first suspected coronavirus ship was the Azteca 8, which set sail for the tuna catches on May 1, but advanced its return 15 days later, presenting some of the crew symptoms of Covid-19. When taking the tests, 4 were positive and 21 negative.

Days later, the ship María Beatriz arrived in port, also with Covid-19 suspects, where 19 tested positive and five negative.

Last Saturday a new boat entered the port to perform the examination on 26 crew members because it returned from the sea with a deceased crew member, who had presented symptoms of the disease.

Each boat, on average, has 26 people in its crew.

The captain of Puerto de Mazatlán, José Enrique Mora Reyes, said that, according to information provided by the Department of International Health, the 26 fishermen from the El Duque boat were sampled, and it is estimated that the results will be released as of Thursday.

On Sunday, the same sanitary jurisdiction number six in Mazatlán, through the department of epidemiology, took the samples from 26 crew members, those will hardly take them.
