Santa María Huatulco, Oaxaca (May 2, 2020).- Because the hospital of the municipality of San Pedro Pochutla denied entry to a person with a probable case of COVID-19 from Huatulco, the authority purchased equipment to attend to these cases locally.

Huatulco formally Bahías de Huatulco, centered on the town of La Crucecita, is a tourist development in Mexico. It is located on the Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca.

Geovanne González García, mayor of Santa María Huatulco, pointed out that the Regional Hospital of Santa María Huatulco has four beds available for respiratory therapy to attend to any cases that could arise in their municipality, this to avoid the transfer of patients as occurred in past weeks.

Hidden along the beautiful coast of Oaxaca, you’ll find Bahias de Huatulco, a jewel of a resort, developed with an eye toward ecological preservation.

He added that although the director of that hospital has already been changed, “it is better to have a physical space prepared for patients.”

He stressed that the Health Plan has been the priority in his municipality during the pandemic since the health system has been restored and strengthened, so the necessary equipment has been sent to both the regional hospital and the Mexican Social Security Institute.

Finally, he promised that as soon as the health contingency situation is over, his administration will organize a great party “to reopen the destination and receive tourists.”
