Quarantine extended until May 30 in Mazatlan

Sinaloa is among the 10 most vulnerable states in the country, the Secretary of Public Health issued recommendations

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- During the press conference this morning held by the President of the Mexican Republic, the Secretary of Public Health, Hugo López Gatell reported that the quarantine extends to vulnerable states such as Sinaloa.

He explained that the Sana Distancia Day runs until May 30, but in municipalities with low transmission of COVID-19, it will return to daily life on May 17.

Sinaloa is among the 10 most vulnerable states in Mexico, since the number of infections until yesterday is 295 confirmed, of which 11 are from Mazatlán and 459 suspects, with 39 deaths.

He also said that school activities and some daily activities will resume until June 1, however, this will be explained next Tuesday with the Secretary of Public Education, Esteban Moctezuma.

López Gatell said that Mexico is anticipating phase 3, so it is expected that the maximum peak of the epidemic curve will be reached between May 8 and 10.

Recommendations issued by the Ministry of Public Health:

─ Maintain the National Day of Healthy Distance until May 30.

─ Ensure proper implementation and compliance with health security measures.

─ Regionalize the intensity of mitigation measures.

─ Segment mobility in the national territory.

─ Maintain protection after May 30 for groups with a higher risk of complicating and dying from the disease.
