Uber will provide financial support to drivers and deliverers who test positive for COVID-19

The international company, Uber, with presence in hundreds of cities around the world, including La Paz and Los Cabos in BCS, will provide financial support for up to 14 days for drivers and delivery persons infected with Covid-19.

On its internet platform, Uber communicates that any driving partner or delivery partner diagnosed with Covid-19, or who is individually isolated and proves their condition, “may be eligible to receive financial assistance for up to 14 days for the sole occasion, while their account remains on hold”.

He explains that, due to the “extraordinary and unprecedented” situation experienced with the Covid-19 pandemic, “and without being obliged to do so”, they created and applied support policies for the sole occasion, “in order to seek their health and that of the general population. ”

It was clarified that the measures can vary according to each city.

He also announced that they will maintain Uber Pro levels of partners and delivery for the rest of this period.

On the other hand, the company that supports the public health authorities in their response to the pandemic, will have a team available 24/7.

In this sense, they could “temporarily suspend” the accounts of users, driving partners and delivery partners diagnosed, exposed to people who contracted or were exposed to Covid-19.

It will also seek to provide driving partners and delivery partners with an option to access disinfectants. Meanwhile, they are prioritizing resources in cities that need it most.
