Flights to Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean canceled

The airline said it will continue to travel to cities in Europe and the United States, despite the decision to reduce the frequency of its flights, including domestic ones.

Aeroméxico reported this Friday that it has suspended some of its flights to South Korea, Canada, the United States, Central, and South America while it will reduce other frequencies in the face of falling demand and the closure of borders due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The airline detailed that trips from Mexico City to Seoul, the capital of South Korea will resume as of April 8 with two weekly frequencies.

Other suspended routes are to Las Vegas, the USA from Monterrey, Detroit from León, as well as, from the capital of the country to Vancouver, Canada until April 30, Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia, until April 22, Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago and Quito in South America, as well as Guatemala, San Pedro Sula and San José in Central America until April 15.

Meanwhile, trips to Japan and various cities in Europe and Sao Paulo, Brazil, reduced their frequencies until April 30.

“Every day the situation is changing, so the information reflected below and that of the official Aeroméxico channels will continue to be updated,” the company said in a statement.

Since last week, Latin American countries such as Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Argentina have closed the borders to foreign flights.
