At least five Mazatlan officials will travel to Spain

In addition, 20 entrepreneurs will pay for their transfer to attend the International Tourism Fair, in Spain

Mazatlan.-  It will be an austere trip that will be carried out by municipal representatives to promote Mazatlan at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, according to the Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlan, David González Torrentera.

He said that there is still no estimated budget for people who will be representing the municipality, however, the total for the realization of the stand is already contemplated.

He informed that there are 30 thousand dollars that the municipality is paying to set up the promotion stand in Spain, which is the only thing that is guaranteed.

In addition to the per diem of five people, including the municipal president, they will be paid by the municipality.

He clarified that the business and tourism sector is helping to cover the expenses of some of the people who go.

“The president goes, a server goes, the public relations director goes, two more people from the Ministry of Economic Development go because there is so much to do there,” González Torrentera specified.

He mentioned that there are also three chefs, sponsored by entrepreneurs.

He said that at least 22 businessmen are already confirmed who will join in the trip. In this case, it will be the businessmen themselves who cover their expenses.

The Municipal Culture Institute will pay per diem for the carnival queens. In addition, sponsorship will be sought for a carnival troupe.

“It is a dynamic that had never occurred, the tourism sector had never been as unified as it is now, and we are all contributing because we know the need to position our city,” said the official.
