Martha Stewart Announces Plans for Branded Real-Estate Developments

Martha Stewart is ready to leave her mark on the very homes we live in. The lifestyle guru, who already has a robust empire of home goods and entertaining essentials, is gearing up for her next big venture—this time in real estate.

According to The Real Deal, her Martha Stewart Living brand, which she sold to Marquee Brands earlier this year, is in talks with real-estate agency Brand Labs International to scout out cities in the United States, Europe, and Asia that might be a good fit for her planned developments. Stewart is said to be heavily involved in the design of the properties, which could include everything from single-family homes to condos to townhouses to assisted living communities.

A press release explains that Stewart’s own homes have “acted as laboratories” for the impending developments, which will likely be outfitted with all of her signature charm and practical DIY-style comforts. The Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party host splits her time between four residences: her country farm located just north of New York City in Bedford, New York; her glamorous Perry Street townhouse in Manhattan’s West Village; her woodland retreat on Mt. Desert Island, Maine; and her Hamptons beach house. Earlier this year, she released a new line of decor that was also inspired by her homes.See the video.

2019 has already been a banner year for Stewart, who has built upon her furniture, kitchenware, and cookbook lines to introduce some CBD products and an expanded QVC line. And perhaps an even greater development has been her new partnership with MSC Cruises to create Stewart-inspired excursions to the Cayman Islands, Mexico, Jamaica, Key West, and more. Passengers enjoy perks such as curated menus that reflect Stewart’s life, including a holiday menu with her mother’s potato latke recipe.
